Payroll Specialist/Bookkeeper

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist/Bookkeeper to provide 40 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be able to utilize technology to increase productivity and efficiency.

Candidate must be proficient in QuickBooks and have experience in multi-state payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing Bi-Weekly payroll-Multi State in QuickBooks
  • Bank reconciliations
  • QuickBooks Entries
  • Accounts payable/receivable
  • Filing with state and other municipalities annually
  • Financial statements
  • Review balance sheet and income statements
  • Enter information and create invoices
  • Expense reports-validate and process submissions
  • Pay bills weekly /bi-weekly
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual profit/loss statements
  • Review invoices for accuracy and make recommendations for cost savings
  • Scan invoices and receipts and index appropriately

 

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient in QuickBooks
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and excellent problem solving skills
  • Must be a team player with a sense of responsibility and ownership
  • Must have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability and willingness to learn and understand new technology
  • Self sufficient and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must be self-starter with strong organizational skills
  • Must have excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent math skills, be an analytical thinker and a problem solver
  • Ability to develop processes, and use a systematic approach to complete a work plan.

 

Experience:

  • 4-6 years technical knowledge of PC proficiency, including expertise in spreadsheet applications
