SEO Content Specialist

 SEO Content Specialist will work with emerging media like mobile, video, social media and online PR and develop content to drive our natural/organic search optimization (SEO). The role is expected to write and produce various types of content including blog posts, articles and videos to help drive quality organic traffic. Candidate must have a passion for writing, a comprehensive understanding of the industry and experience in blogging to achieve business goals. This Specialist must be well versed in white hat SEO tactics and content marketing to improve our rankings on Google, Yahoo, MSN and other major search networks. The SEO Content Specialist will contribute to ongoing SEO assessments/reporting and SEO best practices, including the impact of social media on search engine rankings.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Develop ROI-focused keyword and content strategies using research tools, analytics data, and competitive research and audience segmentation.
  • Responsible for creating SEO-optimized and engaging consumer content (website content posts, articles, email campaigns, video scripts, community involvement, persona development, proofreading, infographics and more.) and to manage the process to develop and publish content on our digital platforms.
  • Maintain monthly and annual editorial calendar with all content publication dates.
  • Research, identify, and establish relevant link partners for our sites and for internal linking strategies.
  • Ensure all content meets high-quality standards and corporate style while staying informed of current trending topics, new developments in technology and industry best practices.
  • Work with cross functional teams to develop and track details of SEO initiatives
  • Collaborate with SEO Technical Specialist, Social Media, and the Digital Marketing team, and leadership to produce and deploy SEO and CRO optimized content.
  • Provide regular analysis and reports of content performance, and recommend areas for improvement to increase message effectiveness.  Utilize SEO as insights for deeper brand opportunities.
  • Collaborate with social media team to maximize content insights across all platforms – leverage learning to ensure all content is as high-performing as possible.
  • Working with internal stakeholders to create content and coordinate the development of final solutions between external creative teams and in-house or external production & QA teams.


•  4+years of tactical and strategic experience in SEO (search engine optimization) either in-house or agency environments 
• Possess a BA/BS in Marketing, English, Journalism or related discipline 
• Have a passion for connecting queries to content, and a commitment to making sure the  relevant content is found by those who are looking for it
• Have experience as a SEO content writers with an understanding of how to write for both users and search engines at once
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills
• Have a working knowledge of leading Web Analytics and SEO tools
• Have a proven record of page placement and website optimization
• Enjoy problem solving and have the ability to adapt to new technologies and processes
• Have strong organizational skills, being able to manage multiple projects at once in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Be a proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently while collaborating with other departments
• Ideally have working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and Java Script
• Be fluent in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.

Required Skills and Abilities:

The SEO Content Specialist must have expert knowledge of technical aspects of SEO, including HTML, URL structures, keyword analysis, content optimization, search engine crawlers, indexes and algorithms, website session management, JavaScript, CSS, iframes and other factors that can impact SEO.
