OSP CAD Technician

Summary

The Computer Aided Design Technician will create construction documents and/or records in an approved mapping software system and will perform drafting and pre-post functions, create as-built staking sheets, schematics, permits, service order drawings, and any other CAD drawings, maps or CAD records work including data attributes.

General Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Create construction documents and/or records in an approved mapping software system
  • Perform drafting and pre-post functions
  • Create as-built staking sheets, schematics, permits, service order drawings, and any other CAD drawings, maps or CAD records work including data attributes
  • Drafting of the field notes obtained from the Facility Engineer team in required mapping software for aerial or buried telecommunications facilities including but not limited to copper or fiber cable, poles, terminals, pedestals and hand holes.
  • Obtain records and maps required from client database or permitting jurisdictions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Geography or equivalent 2-year work experience
  • Technical training in computer aided drafting or equivalent work experience
  • Related work experience in the facility management environment
  • Proficient in Windows operating system environment
  • Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to overlap-perform more than one function at a time while communicating with internal and external customers.
  • Required to maintain established productivity levels.
